[Cleveland, OH] Sparx City Hop | 9-17-2016
SPARX City Hop is a free event that brings Cleveland’s residents and visitors Downtown to explore, experience and celebrate art and culture in some of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
The 14th annual SPARX City Hop connects participants, or “City Hoppers,” to more than 100 galleries, artist studios, and other retailers. The event kicks off at 11 a.m. September 17, and runs till 6 p.m.
City Hoppers should make their first stop at the Main Hub, located at Playhouse Square right under the new GE Chandelier. The Main Hub is where participants can get a free wristband, which is required to board the trolleys, but they can also acquire wristbands at any one of the trolley stops. Participants will also find local retail and live entertainment at the main hub.
SPARX is a unique way for Clevelanders to act as tourists in their own city. Throughout the day, free trolleys will depart from U.S. Bank Plaza and make trips around Downtown Cleveland and into the surrounding neighborhoods. This year’s SPARX features three trolley routes: The Green line featuring Downtown Cleveland and into Ohio City; the Blue Line including stops in the Superior Arts District, Campus District and Asian Town Center; and the Red line taking city hoppers into Tremont.
SPARX tour guides will be on board all trolleys to share interesting facts about each respective neighborhood’s architecture, culture, history, local artists as well as the development happening in Downtown Cleveland.
